9 people arrested in Tajikistan in connection with the Moscow attack

The security agency of Tajikistan has detained 9 people on suspicion of being in contact with the people involved in the attack on Crocus City Hall in the capital of Russia, Moscow. This information was reported by the Russian state news agency on Friday.

The attack took place on the evening of March 22 at Crocus City Hall in Moscow. Gunmen entered the live performance corridor and opened hearthplace at the crowd. He set fire to the hall. 144 people were killed in this incident. More than three hundred injured.

Russia's RIA Novosti news agency, citing Tajik security sources on condition of anonymity, reported that 9 residents of a district in Tajikistan were detained. They are in contact with the attackers of Moscow's Crocus City Hall. Russian security forces also took part in the arrest operation.

Russian security services have so far arrested 11 suspects in connection with the attack. Four of them have been identified as "attackers" by Russian authorities. They are citizens of Tajikistan.

The Islamic State Khorasan (IS-K) claimed responsibility for the Crocus City Hall attack.

Russian President Vladimir Putin described the attackers as "radical Islamists".
