Houthi announced to attack in Indian Ocean
The Houthi armed group of Yemen announced to increase the scope of the attack. The leader of the group, Abdul Malik Al Houthi, made this announcement on Thursday (March 14). Reuters reported.
The Houthi chief said, from now on, they will also attack ships associated with Israel in the Indian Ocean. Their main goal is to intercept ships linked to Israel.
Abdul Malik Al Houthi said, not only in the Arabian Sea, the Red Sea or the Gulf of Aden, they will also prevent ships sailing in the Indian Ocean. Also, ships sailing towards South Africa's Uttamasha Antareep will also be targeted. He said that there is no other way to stop the enemy except to stop the aggression in Gaza.
Incidentally, last Tuesday (March 12) at 1:30 pm Bangladesh time, Somali pirates took control of the ship 'MV Abdullah' on its way to the United Arab Emirates from Maputo port in Mozambique. On Thursday (March 14), the Director General of the Department of Shipping said that the ship was anchored 20 nautical miles off the coast of Somalia.
All 23 sailors on board are Bangladeshis. The ship is owned by SR Shipping Limited, a subsidiary of Kabir Group of Chittagong. It is known that the pirates of Somalia have asked for 50 million US dollars to release the sailors.
