Arsenal-Bayern teams are upset with referee's 'childish' decision on penalty

Arsenal did not win at the Emirates last night, neither did opponents Bayern Munich. English and German clubs drew 2-2 in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League. In the first leg match that ended in a tie, the tie was about something other than the score line. Both teams expressed anger at the end of the match for not getting a 'fair' penalty.

At the last moment, the referee Glenn Nyberg left the field after hearing the chants of Gunner fans without giving Arsenal a penalty. However, Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel is more angry with the Swedish referee. The team's English striker Harry Kane scored a goal from the penalty spot, but Tukhel felt his team deserved another penalty.

That is the 66 minute incident of the match. Not just a story, but a strange story. After Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya took a goal kick, the team's defender Gabriel Magalais caught the ball with his hand in the penalty box and returned it to the goalkeeper. Even though it was a clean handball, the referee "Shishutosh" did not give a penalty.

At the end of the match, Tukhel expressed his anger, "The referee didn't even have the courage to give us the penalty we deserved today. I know, the incident was strange. They put the ball in, he (the referee) blows the whistle, then the defender picks the ball up again with his hands. I am in a bad mood because of the explanation given by the referee on the field (about not giving the penalty). He told our players it was a "childish mistake" and that's why he can't award penalties in matches like the quarter-finals of the Champions League. What a terrible explanation. Children's mistakes, adults' mistakes, what does it matter.'

Disappointed Tukhel could not believe why the referee did not give a penalty, he touched the ball with his hand thinking that the game was not in progress. The referee believes the ball was in play and it was a handball. We are seething with anger, because a major decision has gone against us. Very disappointing.'

The incident at Arsenal was the added time of the match. Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka was blocked by Bayern's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer in the penalty box. Nayyar's extended right leg drops Saka. The referee did not give a penalty despite the Arsenal player's appeal.
